Did Chris Daughtry make a mistake?

As most anyone who follows American Idol knows, Chris Daughtry was offered the chance to front the band Fuel practically moments after he was voted off of the show. He has now officially turned them down. It looks like he plans to go solo after finishing up the American Idol Live tour. So, what do you think? Smart move? Arrogant move? Will he have better success as a solo artist? Would he have been better off joining up with an established band? I’m curious what those Chris Daughtry fans out there think.

It is likely that he would have brought more new fans to fuel than fuel would have brought to him. His exposure on American Idol is likely to allow him to do what he wants with his career and be succesful.

Working with an established group like fuel would have meant less creative control. I think that if he had not been on American Idol or had been voted off early, he would have been better off signing with fuel. Having gained so much exposure by lasting so long in the competition, he is probably better off turning him down.

Just my thoughts…

I think he’ll be a better success as a solo artist.
