There have been a lot of complaints online about the quality of this year’s Top 24 contestants, so who is to blame? You can’t blame the contestants. They’re just following their dreams. You can’t blame the vieweres, we don’t have anything to do with the decisions until the voting starts. So, who does that leave? The judges/producers.

In the final elimination before the Final 12, Simon said the big problem with Haley Scarnato was he couldn’t even remember her name. In other words, she’s forgettable. Hey, that’s funny. That’s what I thought when you put her through the very first auditions. Utterly forgettable, except for the hoochie outfit. And now people who were totally memorable are sitting at home watching, instead of performing, while you’ve put through someone whose name you can’t remember. I’m a bit annoyed by the judges this year, as I feel like they’re the ones who have put through a field that lacks “yo” and is forgettable. Was this really the cream of the Hollywood crop?

I think there are several people who made it to Hollywood who were better than half of the people who made it to the Final 24. Tami Gosnell and Jory Steinberg come immediately to mind. So, the next time Simon complains about the quality of someone’s performance. Please feel free to join me in screaming at the screen, “Why did you even put them in the Top 24 then?” I guarantee, you’ll feel better :)
