She has had some really amazing perfomances, thus far. I guess what I like about her over Melinda many times is that she has a lot more personality. So, if they have similar vocal performances, but one shines more, then I tend to prefer the spunkier performance. Last night, though, wasn't very good vocally or in spunkiness department. I have not watched the show almost all season but I did watch it last night; so I have almost no preconceived notion about the performers. When I heard the judges overrated praise for Jordin Sparks I was blown away. Like you said, “what were the judges watching that I wasn’t”. I have spoken about it with people at work and and they say that she is only 17. Sure, for a 17 year old she has a pretty good voice, but this is a competition of who's the best singer not who's the best singer for their age. The best singer last night was Melinda Doolittle.
