American Idol 7– Top 16 Results Show

I’m going to be pretty quick with my recap of tonight’s results show. So, here goes.

Blake Lewis sang “How Many Words”. Yea, Blake! So much better than an 80s montage.

The guys’ recap was first, then the elimination started. David Cook was told to stand, he was safe. David Archuleta stood– safe. Jason Castro stood– safe. None of those were really surprising.

After the commercial, it was the girls’ turn. Brooke White– safe. Syesha Mercado– safe. Kady Malloy– going home. Well, at least I was right about something.

Then, we were back to the boys. David Hernandez– safe. Michael Johns– safe. Luke Menard– going home.

Girls again. Ramiele Malubay– safe. Carly Smithson– safe. Amanda Overmeyer– safe. That left Kristy Lee Cook and Asia’h Epperson standing with Ryan, waiting through a commercial to find out their fate. After the commercial, Kristy was safe and Asia’h was going home.

And the final elimination of the evening found Danny Noriega and Chikezie standing next to each other. Chikezie was safe, and Danny was headed home.

So, what do I think about these results? I expected Luke and Kady to go home. I had actually predicted that David Hernandez would be the other guy and that Syesha would be the other girl. I don’t think David Hernandez is bad. I just thought the negative publicity of the past week might cost him votes. I really didn’t expect Danny to go home so soon. I always found him to be quite entertaining. I think Syesha’s great, but I wasn’t sure she had the backing to make it. I was actually back and forth between her and Asia’h, but I thought Asia’h’s personality would carry her through at least a couple more weeks. Well, at least I got half of them right tonight, which is better than last night.

How’d you do? Did you predict who would be in the Top 12?

I was bummed that Danny went home. He was one of the few people on the show that I found entertaining. The singing is better this year, but the entertainment aspect isn’t as good as some years.

I was a little sad to see Danny go so soon. I like his personality and I think he has a really good voice. I think he would have gotten better as the weeks went by.
I think the negative publicity is what sent him home (and I’m not so sure he got less votes than Chikezie and David H either) I think Idol was afraid to have him on the show because he’s so flamboyant and outspoken. When those You Tube videos came out, he was ousted.

As far as the other 3 go, yes, Iexpected Like and Kady to leave. Wasn’t sure who the last one would be though.

I’m just happy my 4 favs got to stay..

David C, Michael, Jason and Brooke.
