Ellen DeGeneres Named New ‘American Idol’ Judge

Ummm…. I am having a hard time believing this, but FOX has confirmed that Ellen DeGeneres is replacing Paula Abdul as the new ‘American Idol’ Judge. I don’t know about my wife Jill, but after watching Ellen guest judge for “So you think you can dance” last season, I might not be watching American Idol anymore. It just makes more sense to have a judge that actually knows music then to have comic relief on the show.
But who I am to say… they’re the ones running the best rated show on tv. I just hope they find a way to use Ellen’s comic talent in a way that doesn’t take away from the music. I felt like “So you think you can dance” didn’t do that when she guest hosted it. Time will tell…

I was worried about Ellen (E…really??) too, but she seems to be keeping things in check. She also seems really nervous and in my mind needs to show a lot more confidence. But that’s part of her schtick, so it’s hard to know if that’s real or not. At any rate, she’s not horribly obnoxious thus far as I feared she might be.
What is obnoxious is America’s choice on who went home this week! OMG…we really missed it folks! LOL Here’s hoping for better ears next week!
On second thought, Ellen probably would have picked Norman Gentle to move on last year and AI might have been more fun to watch.
