Tonight’s elimination round divided the contestants into two groups: Elliott Yamin, Kellie Pickler and Katharine McPhee in one group and Chris Daughtry, Paris Bennett and Ace Young in the second. That left Taylor Hicks sitting on the couch, obviously safe. Then Ryan asked him to join the group that he thought was safe. I hate it when they do that. It puts the contestant in such a bad position. Taylor shook Chris’ hand then joined the group with Elliott, Kellie and Katharine. And Taylor was correct. Chris, Paris and Ace were the bottom three.
Ryan quickly let Paris sit down, leaving Chris and Ace. I would truly have been shocked if Chris had gone home, although I do have to admit being a teensy bit glad he was in the bottom three, but tonight I was not shocked. Tonight we said goodbye to Ace Young, as was expected. I like Ace, but I think this was the ideal time for him to go. He didn’t stay so long that I was annoyed by him, and I didn’t go home so early that I was shocked.
Best wishes, Ace!

Why does everyone think Ace should have gone home? He wasn’t the strongest, but I think he should have had another chance, but maybe I’m alone on that opinion.
Ace just left me cold. He wasn’t horrible, but the only person I thought he was better than this week was Kellie Pickler. And I think he has been worse than her in previous weeks, so to me either one of them could have gone. Obviously, rampant Pickler fans disagree.
