There’s an article that was published today bemoaning the cruelty of this year’s audition process. When I searched for the title, the first articles that came up were articles bemoaning the cruelty of last year’s audition process. So, this begs the question: is this year’s process really worse, or do we just forget from year to year how bad it is?
Personally, I would just as soon they skip the humiliating parts of the audition process. Just let me see the auditions of people who were either borderline, but didn’t make it, or just show me the auditions of ALL the ones who make it through. That would be more enjoyable television for me, since I end up fast forwarding through most of the train wreck portions of the show. Does anyone really enjoy seeing these people humiliated?
